All Pole Fitness classes must be booked online:
Pole Fitness classes at Body Synergy are about getting fit, becoming stronger and having fun. We work through a syllabus – learning moves for strength and combinations for endurance and co-ordination.
The end of each class is a few minutes of conditioning exercises to develop and tone the core, upper and lower body.
We work together and create a supportive atmosphere, we help each other learn – whatever level you are at and we place importance on spotting each other to promote a safe learning environment. We all share enthusiasm for pole sport and we warmly welcome all newcomers to our classes and all continue to make many more friends as our team grows.
Pole training for us is about fun and fitness. We thrive on the unlimited possibilities for athletic moves and combinations. Our classes will improve your strength and flexibility as well as helping you to lose any unwanted weight. You can start as a complete beginner, even if you have never done any form of exercise or have ‘two left feet’, we have something for everyone. We are constantly adding to and developing our already extensive syllabus of moves and combinations in order to provide stimulating classes. Our class participants work their way, step-by-step, through the syllabus at a comfortable pace and may, if they wish, complete graded examinations and receive certificates upon completion of each syllabus stage. Many of our participants enjoy the focus the exam can give them, and many are happy without taking any exams and just come along to the classes to have fun and get fitter! Visit our Examinations page to read a little more.
We aim for excellence in our training, and can teach you techniques that exceed just simply completing a move, but teach you to develop athleticism, elegance and flow. Our team set aside time to train weekly, aspiring to inspire. We are committed to providing a great service and work to constantly to improve the quality of our work.
A note about pole class levels…
We have some classes that are open level – we group the class accordingly here and each student works progressively through the syllabus so any level works in any open class. Complete beginners are welcome to these sessions and we have lots of them! We have several poles and several teachers and so beginners and those with experience are welcome to open level classes.
Some of our classes are then split into beginner sessions and Intermediate/Advanced sessions. Beginner classes are suitable for students who are working on Foundation, Bronze, Bronze Plus or Silver Body Synergy Syllabus or those that are new to pole or new to exercise at all. Intermediate/Advanced Pole Fitness classes are suitable for students that are working on Ruby or higher Body Synergy Syllabus. We suggest that you are able to invert comfortably without help and have either taken a silver exam or have confirmed your suitability for this class with an instructor. If you want to speak to us with any questions about what classes may be best for you, please feel free to give us a call on 07969 261212.
What to Bring
Ideally you will need some shorts for good grip, however, if you prefer to wear longer trousers at first please feel free if you feel more comfortable. Any top is fine, however, some of the more advanced moves do require you to use certain parts of the upper body for grip so a vest might be a good idea. Bare feet advised as we often use the feet to grip the pole. Tip: Avoid moisturiser on the hands and legs that day! Moisturising, even in the morning on the day of class can cause oily skin and significantly decrease your ability to grip the pole, try to wash your hands at the start of class to remove any oil or grease on the skin.
